Welcome Back to School & Winter Weather Reminders

Welcome Back to School and Winter Weather Reminders

Dear SJBP Family,

We hope this message finds you well. I pray you had a restful and joyful winter break.  We are excited to welcome our teachers, students, and staff back to school this week.  As we transition back into our school routine, we want to share a few important reminders.

Winter Weather Preparedness:
We are closely monitoring the threat of an inclement winter weather mix.  As of now, we do not anticipate any school closures.  We are encouraging all students to dress in warm layers, including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, as the temperatures may be colder than expected.
In the event of inclement winter weather, St. John the Baptist Parish School System will notify families via EdConnect, the district website, and all social media channels.

Transportation:
Please be sure to check your local weather outlets for updates on road conditions and allow extra time for bus pick-ups and drop-offs.

Honoring the Memory of Lives Lost in NOLA Tragedy:
In honor of the lives lost during the tragic terrorist attack in New Orleans, Governor Jeff Landry has ordered all flags over state buildings to be flown half-staffed from January 6 – 17, 2025.  This is in honor of the fourteen (14) lives lost during this time.  We’re sending our thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims.
