The “Louisiana Cares” clinics are part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training program, which prepares military personnel for wartime missions while providing healthcare services to underserved communities. “Louisiana Cares” also fulfills DRA’s mission to improve lives across the Mississippi River Delta Region and the 252 counties and parishes it serves.
“South Louisiana residents will benefit from the unique partnership that the Delta Regional Authority has with our men and women in uniform, who volunteer their time and services to help their fellow Americans,” said DRA Chairman Chris Masingill. “These missions not only provide no-cost medical, dental and optical services to the needy, they also further strengthen the relationship between the military and American communities."
DRA’s partnership with the military has helped over 85,000 patients in more than 20 communities with a total value of services worth more than $15 million.
