SCHOOL BOARD LEGAL STATUS
The St. John the Baptist Parish School Board is created by legislative enactment and consists of eleven qualified members elected at the congressional elections for four (4) year terms. Members of the Board take an oath of office after receipt of their commission. The School Board shall constitute a body corporate with power to sue, and under certain conditions, to be sued.
